Always rinse and drain quinoa throughly in cold water before cooking. For a more flavorful quinoa substitute your favorite broth instead of water.
Place 1 cup quinoa and 2 cups water in a 1 1/2 quart saucepan and bring to a boil. Reduce to a simmer, cover and cook until all water is absorbed, for about 10 to 15 minutes. When done, the grain appears soft and translucent, and the germ ring will be visible along the outside edge of the grain.
Add 2 parts water to 1 part quinoa in a microwave safe bowl. Cover and heat on high for 4 minutes, then remove from heat and stir. Heat again for an additional 2 minutes. Stir and let stand for 1 minute befor eeating.
Simply treat the quinoa like rice. Add 2 parts water to 1 part quinoa, stir, cover and cook.
